cie.acompagniada // KUPU

cie.acompagniada is a collective dance company founded and curated by dance artist and choreographer Ada Freund. The company brings together independent artists working within the contemporary dance scene.

The group’s nature is to embrace the individuality and distinct qualities of each performer. cie.acompagniada explores contrapositions as a way to build narratives.

Through sensorial and embodied experiences, the works tell stories through the language of the body - inviting the audience to become voyeurs of an unfolding journey. By combining choreography with carefully designed scenography, cie.acompagniada creates immersive worlds that evoke sensations and shared experiences.

SECRETS OF THE ATTIC

Four children find themselves in an attic room. Wow, what amazing things will they discover there! But what is that strange cracking sound, and where is it coming from?

Secrets of the Attic invites you into a world of play and limitless imagination. The characters bring various objects to life, which take them on imaginative journeys. Exploring themes of togetherness, and joy of imagination, this dance theatre performance takes you on a journey of wonder. Come and join us!

Forgotten rocks

It was the same as yesterday -
the details of hidden place gave us comfort

It was the same as before -
we wondered how the dusty air was flying

It was same as yesterday -

It was the same as the other day - the play passed by and tickled us

It was the same -
it was not there anymore

It was the same as other times - this solitude we knew

Fragilely sinking, something was missing. Only there was nothing waiting

Five creatures, living in an abandoned place, the childlike curiosity keeps them away from reality. Wondering, they enjoy being lost. In this chaotic and complex place they find comfort for themselves. Through memories and sensations, they float in timelessness. Finding no way out, they play and encounter sisterhood. Through the journey they return to the beginning, to the solitude that is always present. This solitude that makes us to seek for connection and togetherness. On the contrary, this solitude makes has an apocalyptic effect to the world that the characters are living in. These sensations takes them to the timeless space where the direction has been lost.

PERFORMERS

Ulke Zeelmaekers

Ulke Zeelmaekers is a dance artist from Antwerp, Belgium. She graduated from "de!Kunsthumaniora school of Contemporary dance", secondary education in 2020. Further she attended "SPECIFIC", an Athletic and Artistic training for contemporary dancers, Italy(2020-2021).

In 2024 Ulke graduated as a Bachelor in dance at "PERA - School of Performing Arts". Beside that she danced in the piece "LAST NIGHT YOUR FORGOT AN ONION IN MY POCKET" by Agnese Bargero. The piece was performed during the festival "Platform 14" in Berlin(2022) and during the "Dance Days Chania" festival in Greece in the summer of 2023. She has worked with international choreographers such as Jos Baker, Inaki Azpillag, Anton Lachky, Marion Sparber and Alan Fuentes Guerra, Vittoria De Ferrari Sapetto, Min Hee Bervoets and Helder Seabra.

Andrea Aguado Martin

Andrea Aguado is a performer and dance artist from Barcelona, Spain. She was part of JV2 2019 and after she studied and graduated from her dance Bachelor in PERA - School of Performing Arts. She is currently studying in El Semillero escuela internacional de clown, the school from Piero Partigianoni. She has worked with several choreographers such as Jasmin Vardimon, Guy Nader and Maria Campos, Rafaela Sahyoun, Judith Sánchez Ruiz and Jean Abreau.

Johanna Spies

Johanna Spies is a Hamburg-born dance artist based in Madrid, Berlin and Hamburg. After graduating from the Erika Klütz School as a qualified dance teacher, she earned a First-Class Honours degree from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2022. Johanna has collaborated with choreographers and companies such as Akram Khan, Joseph Mercier, and Thick & Tight, experiences that have shaped her choreographic and curatorial approach.

Her work combines movement, text, and interactive elements to create immersive performance experiences, such as The Quest, which premiered at WHOLE Festival 2024 in Berlin.Her performances have been featured at festivals including Hop’s & Bop’s (England), Flockfest (England), Dance.Impro.Space (Madrid), and ONE MORE NIGHT TO SHOW (Madrid). She currently works with Cia Monica Arroyo in Madrid and dialogia! Festival in Finland. Since early 2024, she has also been a guest lecturer in Cunningham Technique and Choreography at the Erika Klütz School and Kampnagel in Hamburg. Her background as a certified Power Vinyasa Yoga teacher and her ongoing Pilates training further inform her holistic approach to movement and creation.

Julie Pollet

Julie Pollet is a dance artist from France. She graduated from Conservatoire of Lille in contemporary dance. She has worked with international choreographers such as Carolyn Carlson and Rafaela Sahyoun, and she has participated in various projects on the contemporary dance stage.

Chloé Chardevel

Chloé Chardevel is a dance artist from France. She started her studies and graduated at the Conservatory of La Roche-sur-Yon in France, in ballet and contemporary technique. She has studied in PERA - School of Performing Arts. Chardevel has worked in several projects with choreographers such as Vittoria De Ferrari Sapetto, Marion Sparber and Alan Fuentes Guerra, Jean Abreu, Marco Di Nardo and Judith Sanchez.
