Ada Freund is a Finnish dance artist. She graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK) in 2022 and completed postgraduate studies at the PERA School of Performing Arts. She has worked with international choreographers such as Eleanor Perry and Daniel Hay-Gordon, Jos Baker, Marion Sparber and Alan Fuentes-Guerra, Johanna Spies, Jean Abreu.
Ada is inspired by the playfulness of imagination and the embodiment of sensorial experiences. She draws her practice by combining these elements in movement research. Ada values collaboration and multidisciplinary approaches, and is continuosly looking for new perspectives to collaborate with.
Freund has been granted with two artistic grants: Arts Promotion Center Finland and The Finnish Cultural Foundation (Taike and SKR).
Freund has worked closely with Dialogia! -festival in
Finland where she has been invited to perform and to
choreograph. In addition to solo and duet works, she has choreographed group works ‘Garden Gatherings’, ‘Secrets of Attic’ and ‘Forgotten Rocks’ among others. Ada is the founder and choreographer of the performance group cie.acompagniada which she actively creates works.
From October 2023 she has collaborated with a dance
artist Chiara Consiglio, creating a duet work ‘s y m b i o s i s’ which performed in August 2024 in Finland and Italy. In addition, Ada is actively teaching workshops as well as performing in several assemblies.
